Defensive meat eaters
How do you deal with defensive meat eaters who shout you down before you even get 2 words out? i find this really frustrating!

Re: Defensive meat eaters
Usually I find that they respond in this way because they have no education in the matter. They beleive everything they see on TV and keep following the same old things like " Carrots have feelings too". Of course we know they dont have a central nervous system so cannot feel the pain of animals. They dont have a clue. I feel we dont have to justify why we DONT eat something, its up to them to justify why they DO.

Re: Defensive meat eaters
I find sometimes actions speak louder than words. By practising what I want to 'preach' people become very curious and start asking questions. Like why are you a Vegan? How come you look so dynamic and healthy, I thought all Vegans are thin and sickly? Anyway it does give an opportunity to talk about my life choice in a friendly and informative way.

Sunny, you must be around nice people! All I get is "you're a hippy/freak/weirdo, etc"! the stereotypes are really silly, eg all vegans don't wash, we don't have fun, etc.
the fact that I am happier and healthier than the lot of them doesn't seem to register.

Re: Defensive meat eaters
I once read on a toilet wall: "Vegans smell bad". That one just made me smile.

I also once read: "Eat meat, it's good for you" and right next to it someone else had written in: "...said George Bush"
